As we hope you already know, the safety and well-being of everyone who books with our affiliates is always our top priority. Please be aware that all SCVRMA members are actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and we are taking appropriate steps to help keep our guests, staff and community safe. This page will be updated frequently, but be aware that the situation is fluid. For the most current information, please visit the CDC website or the Florida Department of Health, both of which are being updated daily or more. As of April 1st, Lee County public beaches have been closed, and public beach parking is also prohibited. Most restaurants are closed for dining in, but many are re-tooling to offer carryout or delivery services. The Governor, has issued a “stay at home” order, and the City of Sanibel has suspended all new rentals or arrivals until April 30th. Additional safety guidelines have been instituted at resort pools, public spaces and common areas including measures to encourage social distancing, and this can change from day to day at the discretion of the appropriate authorities. As of April 8th, there were 6 confirmed cases of Coronavirus on the Island. We want the traveling public to remain vigilant, and to continue taking protective actions concurrent with the most up-to-date advisories. Older adults and people of any age with serious chronic medical conditions (the populations most at risk) should postpone nonessential travel. Depending on your unique circumstances, you may choose to delay or cancel your plans, and if you do decide to travel, be sure to take steps to help prevent getting and spreading COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases during travel.
